Gliding Club: Social Media Officer

As Social Media Officer, I will employ over 6 years of experience managing my Aviation Photography and General Photography social media to:
- provide regular and clear updates and reminders for socials and other events
- create regular and engaging posts, with a variety of content (on Instagram a mixture of posts, stories, videos, reels…), ensuring smooth communication and with the aim of growing the social media accounts
- frequently take, edit, and upload photos and videos of UCL flights (whenever I’m at RAF Halton)
And anything else Gliding Club members wish to see from their Social Media Officer!

Hi everyone! I’m Jiayi, and I’m running to be your next Social Media Officer for the UCL Gliding Society.

As someone who’s passionate about both gliding and communication, I believe social media is not just for sharing pictures — it’s our key platform to connect, inform, and inspire. I want to make our pages a place where members can easily find answers to their questions, learn from high-quality posts, and stay engaged with every flight, event, and update.

I have strong communication skills and experience managing online communities, which means I can respond quickly to queries, create clear and engaging posts, and share useful resources — from flight tips and weather briefings to behind-the-scenes moments from our gliding trips. My goal is to make every post both informative and enjoyable, and to help more students discover how amazing gliding can be.

If elected, I’ll make sure our social media channels truly reflect the spirit of the society — friendly, active, and full of lift!
