Hi everyone! I’m Corinna, a first-year BASc Arts and Sciences student, and I’d like to nominate myself for the role of First-Year Representative.
As your representative, I’d aim to ensure every first-year student feels included, supported, and inspired to get involved. I want to create an engaging environment where we can all feel confident exploring our shared interests in diplomacy. I'd actively seek feedback from first-years to understand their interests and work closely with the committee to organise diverse, accessible events so there’s truly something for everyone.
As Co-Leader of my school’s Global Issues Network (G.I.N.) Club, I planned and hosted community events with students, parents, staff, and guest speakers. These included SWAP-PARTYs promoting circular fashion, workshops on resource conservation, panel discussions on gender-based violence, and debates on political issues, all designed to encourage participation and open dialogue. These experiences strengthened my communication, teamwork, and organisational skills, which I believe would be valuable in this role.
I’m excited to represent our year group, contribute innovative ideas, and help make the Diplomacy Society a welcoming, active, and inspiring community for all!
