Aarushi Gupta

Hi, I'm Aarushi, and I'm running for the post of Welfare Officer at Delilah. As a lover of all things music, I am excited to be a part of the committee at Delilah. When I wrote an article for Delilah last year, I was encouraged by the warm and welcoming committee to try my hand at doing the art myself. Even though I've never designed for a magazine before this experience, I decided to give it a shot, and I ended up really liking the result. As your Welfare Officer, I hope to continue to foster this inclusive environment and encourage all members to try out new things.

Risa Roelofsma

Hiya, I’m Risa, a postgraduate law student specialising in Intellectual Property and a lifelong music lover, standing to be the Welfare Officer for Delilah Magazine.

I’ve lived with anxiety since school, so I know first-hand how important it is to feel seen, supported, and understood, especially in creative spaces. Over the past two summers, I’ve worked as a pastoral and activity leader, helping teenagers from across the world who were exploring what they want to study at uni,  find confidence, community, and joy. Those experiences have shown me how powerful empathy and kindness can be in helping people flourish.

Music has always been my safe place; it connects, heals, and reminds us we’re not alone. As Welfare Officer, I’d love to make Delilah not just a magazine, but a supportive space where everyone involved feels heard and cared for.

Marynet Perez

Hi! I’m Marynet (Maggie to most) and I’m a Year 2 BSc Psychology student. That should imply I’m somewhat qualified for this role, but the only diagnosis I could probably give you is which student canon event you’re currently facing.

I’ve really enjoyed writing and designing for Delilah the past year and have experienced what it’s like to balance those commitments with all your different lives at university. The mag has become a space for me to embrace my creativity and maintain my passion for music, but it’s equally important to keep that space fun, safe and relaxing for yourself!

If you ever need a mental check-in, or anything that could make your experience at Delilah a little more comfortable, you will likely find me with a banger one-liner at hand and headphones permanently glued to my head (I say as I hold an empty bottle of superglue).
