ZSL Biobank Bioblitz

Join the Zoological Society of London (ZSL) for a unique behind-the-scenes volunteering opportunity at their Biobank.

You’ll work in pairs to help audit frozen biological samples from ZSL’s pathology collection, using dry ice to keep them at the right temperature.  Full training in handling biological materials will be provided.

Along the way, you’ll also get a rare chance to see ZSL’s dry collection specimens, including taxidermy and skulls, and learn how they’re used in wildlife research, forensics, and tackling the illegal wildlife trade.

Why get involved?

  • Gain hands-on experience in biobanking and conservation science
  • Develop transferable skills in organisation and teamwork
  • Contribute to research that supports wildlife protection worldwide
  • Experience an exclusive look inside ZSL’s collections
