Friday 20 September 2019 (All day) to Sunday 22 September 2019 (All day)

Name of Event: How the Light Gets In

Volunteer Role: We’re looking for a team of dedicated stewards to help us run the world’s largest philosophy and music festival - HowTheLightGetsIn. If you would like the opportunity to hear some of the world’s leading thinkers, plus access to incredible live music, then we want to hear from you. In return for their shifts, stewards get a festival pass which gets them access to all the festival’s incredible debates and events. Although we can’t provide food for staff, all stewards get a jammy discount at the festival eateries along with a free camping pace on the festival campsite. Shifts are full on and fast paced, but also very rewarding and the friends you make on the stewarding team are ones that last! Every steward can request a professional reference to document this valuable and varied experience for future employers.

This is a great way to gain valuable experience in event management, organisation and leadership. Volunteer duties include:

  • Ticket checks
  • Manning the doors of events, talks and gigs
  • General point of information for visitors
  • Setting up venues for debates, gigs
  • Organising the queues to events
  • Managing the crowds on the festival sites
  • Helping maintain the site’s décor and cleanliness.

When: The festival runs from 21– 22 September 2019 (and training on Friday 20), with volunteers working one shift per day of 5-6 hours

Where: Kenwood House, Hampstead Heath, London, NW3 7JR

Deadline: 16 September 2019
