Thursday 26 September 2019 (All day)

Name of Event: Egyptomania

Volunteer Role: Events/Front of House volunteers required for evening event at the Petrie Museum. Help visitors discover Egyptomania in the time of Freud and Petrie through performances, pop-up talks and cocktails. If you are interested in Egyptology, or considering working or volunteering in museums, this one is for you!

We are seeking front of house and event assistants. The role will include assisting with event set-up and clear up, checking tickets, directing visitors, making sure different areas remain within capacity and are tidy, and encouraging visitors to try out different activities.

This promises to be a really fun event, with a great mixture of talks, pop-up events and performances, drinks and DJs.

This will be quite a complex event with a number of different pop-up areas and activities, so welcoming visitors and helping them find their way around will be critical.

Dress code: we are creating a theatrical atmosphere in the museum. Therefore we encourage you to dress up in 1920s style clothing (think Great Gatsby). We will provide some images for inspiration if you’re not sure.

If dressing up isn’t your thing, then please wear all black.

You will get a briefing at the start, a break in the evening, and sandwiches will be provided. Please indicate if you have any dietary requirements.

Where: Petrie Museum of Egyptian Archaeology, Malet Place

When: Thursday 26 September, 16:00-22:00
