🎨 Join Us for a Creative Big Help Out in Somers Town
Get hands-on and make a visible difference to your local community museum in this Big Help Out event with The People's Museum and it's just a short walk from UCL Bloomsbury!
We’ll be spending the day giving the museum and its outdoor areas a fresh look. You’ll help paint and brighten murals, tidy and reorganise displays, and move furniture and materials to make the space more welcoming. In the afternoon, you can also help run a vibrant King’s Cross Market stall, chatting to visitors and raising funds by selling radical books and posters that celebrate local history and activism.
We’re teaming up to refresh murals, tidy up exhibition spaces, and support the museum’s market stall filled with radical books and posters. This is your chance to help keep local history alive while meeting new people and giving back to the community.
🧤 What’s a Big Help Out?
Big Help Outs are fun one-off volunteering opportunities that involve a big group. It's all about small actions creating big change when we work together. At our events, you’ll always find friendly student and staff faces to make sure you feel welcome and supported.
Why Join in?
Somers Town is home to a museum celebrating stories of activism and social change. By lending a hand, you’ll be helping preserve that history while brightening up the space for everyone who visits.
To support your involvement, travel expenses will be reimbursed, and if you volunteer for more than six hours, lunch will be provided.

To make it easier to get involved, you can travel to the event with a member of our team. This is a great way to meet fellow volunteers, make new friends, and arrive together.
Meet Point: Ground Floor Bloomsbury Theatre Building at 9:20am
Please note: We will leave the Meet Point at 9:30 so please get there on time, if you do not want to meet together then you can meet us directly at the Location
