Friday 1 March 201911.00 to 15.00

For the first time since 2016, UCL Donation Day is back! This year it will be be taking place at the new Student Centre on Friday 1st March from 11am-3pm. On the day, we’ll have information about blood donation and stem cell donation, where you will have the opportunity to sign up to the registers for these when you join us at one of our stalls.

“Know Your Type” - Find out what your blood type is on the spot! You will also be able to chat with staff from NHS Blood & Transplant about how easily you can sign up to donate blood.

MARROW - Drop by our stall to sign up to Anthony Nolan’s stem cell register. Freebies and sweets included!

We particularly need more stem cell donors from BAME backgrounds as we often struggle to find matches for people in these groups. Only 20% of BAME blood cancer patients will find a match on the register.

Additionally, there is an urgent need for more young men on the register. They produce more stem cells than women and are six times more likely to donate, but make up just 15% of the register.
