To commemorate the 75th Anniversary of the United Nations, UCL United Nations Association will be hosting an intergenerational dialogue on the present and future of the UN.

Participants will have the opportunity to converse and dialogue with the speakers informally. 

This event is open to the public, including UCL staff and students who are not members of UCLUNA. 

Our speakers:

Dr. Franz Baumann is a former United Nations Assistant Secretary-General who served as Special Adviser on Environment and Peace Operations. Having worked with various branches of the UN over three decades, he is also a member of the Board of Directors of the Academic Council on the United Nations System. As a Visiting Research Professor at New York University, his research focuses on the international governance of climate change and the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.

Mr. Aurelian Mohan served as the UN Youth Delegate of Romania (2018-2019) and managed a team of young experts as a task force leader of the World Urban Youth Councils Network (WUYCN) at UN-Habitat New York (2018-2019). Moreover, he participated in the negotiation process of the 2019 resolution on youth programs and policies (February 2019) and he was a member of the Romanian delegation to the 73rd session of the UN General Assembly, the 57th Session of the Commission for Social Development, and the 2019 ECOSOC Youth Forum. He is currently based in Bucharest and occupies the position of Adviser to the Minister of European Funds.
