Have you heard of Black Lives Matter? Have you stopped to think about the type of people we see around us in the nature and conservation space?
One of our aims for this academic year was to really think about and discuss the issues with inclusion and representation of ethnic minorities in the UK nature and conservation scene, including birdwatching, and much more. Our society is no different - we are based at UCL, a global and diverse University, and we want to make sure our society is equally diverse!
Join us for a VERY SPECIAL event with two inspirational speakers:
1. Wildlife broadcaster, writer, naturalist and photographer David Lindo, also known as the Urban Birder.
2. Wildlife conservationist, ecologist, photojournalist and storyteller Celina Chien, who is passionate about defending biodiversity in the age of the Anthropocene and promoting anti-racism in biology and conservation.
Make sure you join this free talk where David and Celina will share their experiences and help us think about ways to be more inclusive and attract more people to our activities. You can read more about David and his work here: http://theurbanbirder.com/ and Celina here: https://www.celinachien.com/about
