We are very excited to announce this year's special Christmas Speaker.... Dr George McGavin!!!

George is an entomologist, television presenter and explorer. His research has taken him from the tropical forests of Papua New Guinea to the caves of Thailand and from the jungles of Belize to the savannas of Tanzania. After 25 years as an academic at Oxford University, George McGavin became a television presenter for the BBC Natural History Unit. George presented and starred in the BBC series Expedition, making three landmark natural history-expedition programmes: Lost Land of the Jaguar, Lost Land of the Volcano, and Lost Land of the Tiger, in Bhutan. More recently he presented a BBC nature documentary on the amazing Oak tree. George is a regular contributor to the BBCs The One Show where he promotes natural history to the masses. He is a Fellow of the Linnean Society and the Royal Geographical Society, an Honorary Fellow of the Royal Society of Biology and an Honorary Life Fellow of the Royal Entomological Society.  As well as his many TV appearances George has written numerous books on insects and other animals. George is a renowned and brilliant natural history speaker.
