Saturday 24 November 201808.45 to 17.30

We invite you to join us for our This Girl Can Hike event.

We'll take the fast train out of London to Sevenoaks, where we'll venture into Knole Park, home of many many deer, a manor house and a castle. We'll see views across the gentle rolling hills of the Kentish countryside, and generally just enjoy being out there.

The walk is 16km, but we reckon you can handle that! We always have a backmarker - one of our experienced leading crew - to keep the group together and make sure nobody gets left behind (no matter how many photographs you're taking!)

To join us, simply turn up on the day! Meet us at 08:45, in Charing Cross station, next to platform 6. You'll need to buy your own train tickets for the 09:10 train from Charing Cross to Sevenoaks - we recommend getting an OFF-PEAK DAY RETURN at £8.40, with a 16-25 railcard (it'll be slightly more without a railcard). If you're sure you want to come, buy in advance to save time in the morning. We're aiming to be back on the 16:29 train, but it depends if we stop for a drink on the way back, or if we walk quicker than planned.

We'll be heading there whatever the weather, so do make sure you pack warm clothes (hat/scarf/gloves) as well as a waterproof jacket.

Other things to bring with you:

  • water bottle/drinks for the day
  • Packed lunch - there is no cafe, but we will pass toilets around half way
  • A friend (though you can make some on the day too!)
  • A smile and sense of humour
  • Camera/smartphone for taking a few snaps as we walk along
  • Walking boots if you have them, or trainers you don't mind getting muddy
