This workshop for members of Jazz and Folk society is all about facing up to the fear of wires and buttons! Simon Wheeler, technical manager at the Bloomsbury theatre, will be answering previously unfathomable questions such as 'How do I set up this PA system?' and 'Which microphone am I supposed to use for my instrument?' Boring? NO! This kind of wisdom is the number one key to avoid embarrassment during a live performance and to putting on your own shows.

We'll be holding the workshop in the Bloomsbury theatre for a hands-on encounter with all the equipment. Simon Wheeler has years of experience working in a number of popular venues around the UK and abroad. Having joined the technical team at the Bloomsbury Theatre as it's manager in 2018, Simon came from the Roundhouse where he was in charge of sound for internationally renowned bands. Before this he spent many years as a touring technician, working with a number of well-known bands. He also has experience of lecturing and working in education, teaching at Golsdmiths University and the Cato Academy. Before stepping behind the sound desk, Simon played bass in a band.
