Professor Gary Lye is:
• Director of UCL East’s Manufacturing Futures Lab
• Co Director of CARMA, the national Cellular Agriculture Manufacturing Hub
• Director of the EPSRC CDT in Bioprocess Engineering Leadership
• Former Head of UCL Biochemical Engineering
• Fellow of the Royal Academy of Engineering
• Winner of the IChemE Donald Medal
• A key contributor to UCL spin outs like Synthace, Puridify and Axitan
He has shaped national strategy in biotechnology through advisory boards at the EPSRC, BBSRC and the BioIndustry Association, and his research spans everything from continuous fermentation to sustainable biomanufacturing to enzyme technology.
