Join Dr. Nooralhaq Nasimi, MBE, and his son Darius Nasimi for a speaker event that explores their journey from fleeing Taliban-controlled Afghanistan in 1999 to founding the Afghanistan and Central Asian Association (ACAA). After a perilous escape that included being locked in a refrigerated lorry for 12 hours, Dr. Nasimi and his family settled in the UK. Despite the challenges of starting over, they established ACAA, a London-based charity supporting refugees and immigrants through services like legal aid, capacity building, and cultural integration. With the support of his family, Dr. Nasimi has helped thousands of Afghan families and other migrants, and his work continues to inspire the next generation of Afghans in the UK.
