Following up from the debate we hosted in December in collaboration with 1Day Sooner, we will now explore the current role of Covid-19 vaccine human challenge trials with a panel of leading experts in the field.
The UK is planning a COVID-19 human challenge trial— a study in which volunteers will be deliberately exposed to SARS-CoV-2 to better understand the virus and quickly test vaccines. Some have argued that we no longer need these trials given that several vaccines have been approved, while others have maintained that challenge trials are an essential tool in our fight against the virus.
In this panel of leading experts on human challenge trials, we will discuss the current role of COVID-19 human challenge trials. After presentations from each panelist, there will be a Q&A session, during which the audience can ask questions about human challenge trials.
