On 25th January, the UK celebrates the birthday and life works of the famous Scottish poet Robert Burns.  In Scotland, celebrations would normally consist of a hearty supper of haggis, neeps and tatties, washed down with a dram of whisky, followed by a joyous ceilidh dance.

Rabbie Burns sought to preserve the heritage of his beloved Scotland through his writings, so in honour of this, we invite the children of UCL student parents and carers to write a poem inspired by their home

The deadline for submissions is 3pm 25th January.  Submissions can be written, spoken, sung, or even rapped…there are no limitations to the creativity!  This is a wonderful way to share what “home” means to our children. Adult entries are also welcome if you wish to join in the creativity!  Prizes will be awarded for the best entries, to be judged after 25th January.
