Description

Editors for Impact is a non-profit organisation specialising in creative content services. Our platform allows volunteers with creative skills to help charitable organisations while enabling them to practice their skills, expand their portfolios, and connect with a creative collective, sharing ideas and content. We are currently looking for enthusiastic volunteers with basic, intermediate, or advanced skills in Video Editing to join our Impact Editor network. Familiarity with software may include but is not limited to: - Final Cut Pro - Adobe Premiere Pro - After Effects - Filmora - Animation Software In joining our volunteer network, you will work on a completely flexible and intermittent schedule, only committing to projects whenever it suits you, your calendar, and timetable. Our editors are students, part-time or full-time employees; we foster a flexible and low-pressure environment.

Duties

You will collaborate directly with our partners to create video content that will advance their specific causes (e.g. promotional videos, educational content). All work will be conducted online on a flexible basis, and you have the freedom to decide the number and frequency of projects that you will work on. By connecting directly with a partner organisation, you will also gain leadership skills, confidence, and experience in these respective fields. - The projects you deliver can help secure charitable organisations critical funding and establish meaningful partnerships while relieving their time spent on content creation, allowing them to focus on impact. - This is a platform for you to practice your skills and expand your portfolio while doing so for a meaningful cause. Furthermore, you will be able to connect with like-minded volunteers, helping review content, share ideas, and help build an open-source content base. - In working with our partner organisations, this is an opportunity to learn more about how vital challenges are addressed globally. Our partners base grows every week, diversifying our topic and geographic scope.

Who will the volunteers be working with?
As a Video Editor in our Impact Editor network, you will be matched with our partner organizations which comprise of small NGOs and other charitable organizations addressing problems in social development or environmental sustainability. Our partners' work includes environmental conservation and renewable energy; international and socioeconomic development; climate action and education; and more – covering geographic areas in the UK, Peru, India, Vietnam and more.


We aim to match each volunteer to a partner that suits your individual interests and skill level, to ensure that you can deliver a creative service for a cause you are passionate about. If you have specific fields that you would like to get involved in, we are happy to accommodate your requests through our application form. You may also work with other Impact Editors if projects span a broad range of skillsets, including other video, graphics, or sound editors.
Training
Volunteers will be guided through the process of engaging and working with our partner organisations, and producing the required content. Editors for Impact will also recommend open-source sites for creative material or software where useful.

Time commitment

We aim to foster a low-pressure and flexible working environment. You will be able to take up projects according to your personal schedule, and no minimum commitment timeframe is required. The requirements of each project will differ by partner, and may range from one-off editing tasks to longer-term partnerships.
