Help to inspire young people at key transition points in their education!

Mentoring charity Brightside are recruiting student mentors for year 12 pupils at The UCL Academy school. As a mentor you will be supported to use your own knowledge and experience as a UCL student to be an inspiring role model, in person and online.

You'll be supporting pupils to raise their aspirations, grow in confidence, develop skills, and make confident and informed decision about their futures. This project is an amazing opportunity to work directly with young people, and to develop mentoring experience and communication skills! UCL student mentors work with groups of Year 12 students at the UCL Academy, with Brightside and the class teacher there to support you. You'll also provide one to one mentoring via our online, text based system for 11 weeks.

Overall, you'll be supporting pupils at key transition points in their journey through education. You'll enable them to develop skills, grow in knowledge and awareness of their future options, and support them to make confident and informed decisions about their futures.
