Girls Friendly Society
We believe that every girl and young woman has the potential to achieve anything. Our mission is to help them fulfil that potential by providing a supportive and fun place for girls to meet friends, learn more about themselves and grow in confidence. We support volunteers throughout England and Wales in running weekly girls-only groups with a programme of activities that will help girls and young…

We are looking for women to empower girls to try new things, make friends and find their confidence and resilience. With GFS, you’ll have opportunities to take a lead and inspire the girls and young women to be the best they can be. We are looking for volunteers to run weekly social groups for girls. Sessions are made up of a range of activities that offer girls the chance to play, be creative, get active, develop skills, be part of their community and build self-esteem. The single gender nature of the groups makes them a safe place for girls to explore new ideas and try new things.

Time commitment

Activity Leaders will set up, attend and pack down the weekly group which meets at 4.30pm each Wednesday during term time. There is also an additional hour or so of planning per week.

Ideally volunteers would be able to commit to at least nine months of volunteering.
