About the organisation

The Silver Line

The Silver Line is the only free confidential helpline providing information, friendship and advice to older people who may be lonely, isolated or confused, open 24 hours a day, every day of the year. Just £10 donation pays for 2 of those calls. Since our national launch in November 2013 we have received over 2 million calls, that’s around 10,500 calls weekly. We rely entirely on voluntary donations, which come from Corporations, Trust and Foundations, as well as from amazing volunteers from students to retirees; who take part in sporting, community and special events.
