Solace Women’s Aid is an independent charity providing a comprehensive range of services for women and children affected by domestic and sexual violence.

Our Volunteer Service is looking for an enthusiastic volunteer to join our team. The role will involve supporting the recruitment process of volunteers by responding to volunteer queries, collating application forms, organising interviews and providing feedback. The volunteer will assist with organising social events and the training program. The right candidate must know how to multitask, work independently and be a proficient in Microsoft Packages.

To support the Volunteer Service.


This is an exciting opportunity to work within an established Volunteer Service. We are looking for a volunteer to provide administration support working alongside the Volunteer Coordinator.

Tasks will include:

- Supporting the recruitment process of volunteers by providing information, collating application forms, organising interviews and providing feedback.

- Database support such as data entry and running reports.

- Support in organising trainings.

- Assisting with organising and running social events for volunteers.

- Attending external events where applicable to network and promote our volunteer roles.

- Further opportunities in writing articles for our newsletter and supporting the editing of our website.

This role is suitable for anyone looking to gain experience within a leading charity working in VAWG.

Skills needed: 

- Experience in administration tasks, in particular maintaining databases

- Experience in planning and organising events

- Attention to details is essential

- An understanding of or interest in domestic violence and its impacts on women and their children

- An ability to work independently

- Good time management skills

- Good communication skills (both written and verbal)

- An ability to work to deadlines

- Creative

- Good computer skills

- Enthusiastic and motivated

- Strong commitment to the values, aims and ethos of Solace Women’s Aid


Volunteers will be able to access Solace Women’s Aid’s induction and internal volunteer training programme. Full support will be given to help volunteers understand and carry out any aspect of the role as appropriate.
