Not Just Football

Not Just Football aim to provide sport recreation and physical activities for all. We intend to:

- Have sports and physical activities for young people and senior citizens

- Promote and facilitate minority sports

- Provide sports and recreation education and training opportunities for all

- Provide sports therapy and sports medicine support for those who have limited finances

Would you like an opportunity to work with alongside sports therapy/physiotherapy and sports science students in a MDT team based at New River and on match days’ This is a great opportunity for those interested in sports therapy.

Role Aim: 

The aim is to be a part of the MDT that facilitates the Sports injuries clinic at New River Sports Centre. New River is a multipurpose centre that facilitates, football, rugby, tennis, athletics and boxing teams.

We are currently looking a medical student to work alongside Sports Therapy and Sports Science Students to attend and support the Weekly drop in Clinic,

There will also be an opportunity to provide first aid pitchside cover for Woodford Town FC in the Essex Senior League.

Duties: 

- To help manage and facilitate the Sports Injuries drop-in clinics alongside other students.

- To help facilitate appropriate health screening for the young cyclists.

- To act as first aid support on match days

- To communicate with the other students, coaches and senior members of the football team.

Skills needed: 

first aid skills, ( first aid qualification desirable, but not essential), communication skills, team work and multi-tasking skills

Time commitment: 
3-5 hours per week
Opening times: 
We'd like volunteers to work on Either a Monday, Wednesdays, or Friday Evening. Some Men’s 1st team matches may be on some Saturdays.
