About the organisation

AIDS Orphan UK Trust

AIDS Orphan is a charity founded to protect and educate the forgotten AIDS orphans in Kenya and India.

AIDS Orphan provides children with access to education, regular meals and practical help in taking medication. Most importantly it organises psychological training and counselling to help orphaned children cope with their HIV status.

Are you looking to get involved with a small grassroots organisation? Want to use your skills to help people?

We are an HIV International Development charity who provides nutrition, education, life-saving medication and psychological counselling to children who have been infected and affected by HIV/AIDS.

We are looking to expand our social media presence to reach more people and ultimately aid our work of supporting children.

The role is completely flexible and we will help you with interview and career support and references as well as guidance and support if you are looking to start a career in international development or the charity sector. We are also willing to adapt the role to suit your career aspirations and personal development goals to a reasonable degree!

Role Aim:

We are looking for a volunteer to help us with social media. As a small grassroots charity we rely on the support of our volunteers. We are looking to expand our social media reach to aid our cause and donations.

Duties:

Your role would consist of researching and collating media and resources for our social media and helping to schedule them. We would like to help the volunteer to grow in personal and career development, so if they would like more responsibility or to help with other areas we want to work with the volunteer to make the placement fit for them!

Skills needed:

Research skills and knowledge of social media.

Training:

We will provide an induction into the procedure and scheduling of our social media as well as provide training on the cause of the charity, the projects, fundraising and the expectations of the role so the volunteer is fully supported.

Location:
Home-based job
Time commitment:
3-5 hours per week
Opening times:
This role is completely flexible, we will arrange meetings to suit you and you can do work here and there for whenever suits your lecture schedule. We would expect a quick meeting once a week and the line manager will be working core hours of 10-4, Mon-Fri.
