Changing Faces

Welcome to Changing Faces. We’re a charity for people and families whose lives are affected by conditions, marks or scars that alter their appearance. Our work is divided into two areas: Changing Lives and Changing Minds. We aim to help individuals lead full and satisfying lives. We give practical and emotional support to adults, children and their families. We also provide training, support and advice to professionals in health and education. We aim to transform public attitudes towards people with disfiguring conditions. We promote fair treatment and equal opportunities for all, irrespective of their appearance. We campaign for social change: advocating for more integrated health services; influencing schools and workplaces to create more inclusive environments; and lobbying for anti-discrimination protection and enforcement.

Many people with a visible difference struggle with low self-esteem and negative reactions from others. We offer a Skin Camouflage Service as a tool to reduce the impact of some visible differences, and give clients support in everyday life. It’s delivered by trained volunteers around the country and an admin team in London.

We’re looking for help with our administration including entering client information into our database, speaking to clients on the telephone, gathering client feedback, and supporting the team. This is a great opportunity for someone looking for experience within an office environment, within charities, or in client-facing roles!

Role Aim: 

The Skin Camouflage Team are busy supporting clients and volunteers and would welcome some support, particularly to gather feedback from clients

Duties: 

Liaising with clients and volunteers to support the organisation of skin camouflage clinics, gathering feedback information from clients over the phone, handling sensitive information including via a database

Skills needed: 

Empathy, organisation, reliability, confidentiality, customer service

Training: 

We will provide you with training on how to use the CRM database Salesforce, how to run reports, and how to talk to clients in distress. Volunteers will also undergo instruction re Safeguarding and GDPR.
