West Euston Partnership has set up after-school study support sessions with secondary schools in Camden to provide support and guidance ahead of this year’s GCSE exams. In this role you will develop your tutoring ability and communication skills, and provide vital encouragement to local school children ahead of their exams.

The Night Hub will help anyone vulnerable or distressed on Friday or Saturday night in the West End. As a volunteer, you could be helping people get home safely or reunite with friends, helping them report crime or get medical help, or providing emotional support.

Join our Information & Advice team to provide one to one support for clients, helping them to find the best solutions or get the information that they need to overcome difficulties and to explore opportunities e.g. housing, repairs, benefits issues, utilities, help with legal issues, etc. Volunteers won’t need to provide specialist advice or help with filling in benefits forms. Volunteers will write up detailed case notes on our computer system, so excellent IT skills are needed.

We’re looking for committed and enthusiastic students (Masters or PhD level in a relevant discipline) to review new books on the Holocaust and genocide selected by the Library. All Volunteer Book Reviewers will attend an induction at the Library to learn about its history and our current work. Although this role can be completely remotely, Book Reviewers are encouraged to make use of the Reading Room and therefore will be made familiar with resources during the induction session. All articles will be proof read by a staff member before they are published online.

Take a central role in our prevention strategy. As a Wellbeing 360 volunteer, you’ll make phone contact with people who have previously been clients of Age UK Islington - checking in to see how they are and entering details of the call into a specially designed computer app. The service plays an invaluable role in identifying people who might be lonely or living in difficult circumstances, and providing appropriate support as a result. With volunteers and clients saying how much they enjoy making and receiving these phone calls, this is a popular and growing team.

The Information service is based at our contact centre and enables adults of all ages to phone or drop in to find ways of resolving problems or to explore opportunities to improve their day to day lives. You will welcome people to the contact centre and direct them accordingly. Booking appointments and sending reminders, responding to information requests and completing research tasks is also part of the role.

Bletchley Park, home of the code breakers, is credited with shortening World War 2 by two years breaking the Enigma code. Stewarding here means that you’re on the frontline interacting with our visitors, having exciting conversations about history and code breaking, looking out for our exhibits and protecting valuable collections. Don’t worry about the history – you don’t have to be a code breaker to work here! We’ll give you all the necessary training and support. Just have an enthusiasm for people, a friendly approach and interest in what happened here during WW 2.

Friday Night Disco for Learning Disabilities Helper

Centre 404 is the place to be on a Friday night. Each Friday we host a disco for around 70 adults with learning disabilities. The live DJ and disco ball make the atmosphere amazing! We are looking for volunteers who are willing to come out fortnightly to help collect entrance fees at the door, monitor the tuck shop, and give water to those dancing the night away. Great fun!

The group of around 10 meet weekly to do light gardening work (weeding, watering, etc.) for an hour and then have an hour tea break to chat.
