Age UK Westminster are passionate about tackling loneliness and isolation among older people in our community, we are calling on local people across Westminster to join our Befriending scheme and form lasting friendships with older people living in your neighbourhood. Ideally, a volunteer would telephone an older person or visit once a week for a friendly chat over a cup of coffee/tea, accompany them on a short walk or enjoy a trip out to locally i.e., the cinema or theatre together.

We are looking for volunteers who can commit two hours a week for two months to support our @online programme in Hackney. The programme provides a small group environment for over 60s to familiarise themselves with iPads and go on line more confidently. Sessions aim to be informative, but also social and fun. Our Love Your Neighbour champs will spend an hour or so a week with an older neighbour who lives close to their home/work/university. How you decide to utilise your time is entirely up to you both.
