We are looking for a volunteer administrator to support the expanding work of the ESOL department, in particular maintaining accurate and up to date records of the students at the Centre and fielding queries both internal and external.

Our volunteer English teachers transform someone’s life, from being unable to speak, read or write in English and being isolated, to becoming active members of our society. Your involvement helps us to reach more people who need this vital help.

Play and Chat Volunteer – Bromley / Chigwell

During afternoons of diagnostic assessments, parents/carers are given feedback and a possible diagnosis of child/young person. Whilst our clinicians spend time with the parents/carers the child/young person (CYP) is left alone to play – we need to make sure that the child/young person is happy and safe.

This is an important role, as well as spending time talking and/ or playing with a CYP, parents will be relaxed knowing that their CYP is being looked after during this time.

We’re looking for a team of dedicated stewards to help us run the world’s largest philosophy and music festival - HowTheLightGetsIn. If you would like the opportunity to hear some of the world’s leading thinkers, plus access to incredible live music, then we want to hear from you. In return for their shifts, stewards get a festival pass which gets them access to all the festival’s incredible debates and events. Although we can’t provide food for staff, all stewards get a jammy discount at the festival eateries along with a free camping pace on the festival campsite.

Age UK Westminster are passionate about tackling loneliness and isolation among older people in our community, we are calling on local people across Westminster to join our Befriending scheme and form lasting friendships with older people living in your neighbourhood. Ideally, a volunteer would telephone an older person or visit once a week for a friendly chat over a cup of coffee/tea, accompany them on a short walk or enjoy a trip out to locally i.e., the cinema or theatre together.

We are looking for volunteers who can commit two hours a week for two months to support our @online programme in Hackney. The programme provides a small group environment for over 60s to familiarise themselves with iPads and go on line more confidently. Sessions aim to be informative, but also social and fun. Volunteers will provide practical support to the Trainer and @online club coordinator, and will interact on a one to one basis with club members.

Love Your Neighbour champs

Our Love Your Neighbour champs will spend an hour or so a week with an older neighbour who lives close to their home/work/university. How you decide to utilise your time is entirely up to you both. Whether it’s catching up over a cup of tea, or going down to the local coffee shop, pub or theatre, we trust you just enjoy your new-found friendship. Story telling is a big part of what we do too so the more stories you share the better.
