About the organisation

Holborn Community Association

Holborn Community Association (HCA) is a community anchor organisation based in central London which aims to encourage community integration, increase opportunities for local people and reduce social and economic inequalities in our community. At our three centres we provide activities and services to the residents of Holborn and the surrounding areas. Older Peoples services are based at Millman Street Resource Centre. Sport/fitness and under 5’s play activities are run out of Bedford House. Arts and Crafts take place at 1A-Arts Centre.

Application deadline:

We are looking for enthusiastic volunteers to join our weekly pottery and creative writing sessions for over 60s. Volunteers will take part in activities, helping to encourage participants to join in, or being an extra pair of hands for tutors within the sessions. Our studios are in the heart of Holborn, volunteering is a great way to get to know older people in your local community whilst having fun!

Role Aim:

We are looking for friendly volunteers to help support our weekly creative writing and pottery sessions for over 60’s.

Sessions alternate between creative writing and pottery each week and are designed to bring people together to try new things and meet new people.

Volunteers will work alongside our potter and writer to support older people to join in with the activities. Both are very relaxed groups, joining in and having a chat with participants is very much encouraged.

An interest in pottery or creative writing, but no formal skills needed.
