Make a difference!

Many older people become lonely and socially isolated which has a huge impact on their quality of life. This along with complex health issues means getting out becomes very difficult. Support and companionship from a volunteer can greatly improve their health and emotional well-being!

Role Aim:

Many older people become lonely and socially isolated which has a huge impact on their quality of life. Many have begun to use computers, ipads & smartphones as a way of combating this! TV’s are also a huge source of companionship and when they go wrong it causes great distress. Quite often the problem is simply that they need to be re-tuned!

We are looking volunteers that would feel confident going into an older person’s home to help them with IT support. Older people who may not have much knowledge of computers get very anxious about loss of wi-fi, virus protection or just blips that sometimes happen with computers! Please get in touch if you can help!

Duties:

Volunteers will visit an older person at home for approx. 1 – 2 hours to resolve problems with computers, ipads & TV’s.
