Solace Women’s Aid is an independent charity providing a comprehensive range of services for women and children affected by domestic and sexual violence.

This is an exciting opportunity to work within an established Human Resources Service for a women’s group. We are looking for a volunteer to provide administration support working alongside the HR Officer and the overall team.

Role Aim: 

To support the HR Service.

Duties: 

This is an exciting opportunity to work within an established Human Resources Service. We are looking for a volunteer to provide administration support working alongside the HR Officer and the overall team.

Tasks will include:

- Supporting the recruitment process of new staff by arranging interviews, collating interview documents, filing and processing new starter information.

- HR Information Systems use and support such as data entry and running reports.

- Support in organising and setting up staff training.

- General administrative tasks including collating training feedback, tracking course attendance and use of Excel.

- Other opportunities such as posting job adverts online.

This role is suitable for anyone looking to gain experience within a leading charity working in VAWG.

Skills needed: 

- Experience in administration tasks, in particular maintaining databases

- Highly organised, able to prioritise and work productively on multiple different tasks

- Attention to detail

- An understanding of or interest in domestic violence and its impacts on women and their children

- Ability to work independently and clear time management skills

- An understanding of confidentiality

- Team player, able to support and contribute to an overall goal

- Good communication skills (both written and verbal)

- Ability to work to deadlines

- Proficiency in use of computers and Microsoft Office

- Enthusiastic and motivated

- An interest in HR

- Strong commitment to the values, aims and ethos of Solace Women’s Aid

Training: 

Volunteers will be able to access Solace Women’s Aid’s induction and internal volunteer training programme. Full support will be given to help volunteers understand and carry out any aspect of the role as appropriate.

At least one day per week
