About the organisation

Aston Mansfield

Aston-Mansfield has been working in the heart of east London for over 130 years. We provide a wide range of community development support and activities in the London Borough of Newham, directly delivering services to around 1000 people and 900 organisations each year.

Emphasising developmental learning and personal growth, our services bring together people from diverse backgrounds to tackle poverty and deprivation and to enrich people’s lives. We aim to improve people’s lives: working with children, young people and families, whilst also developing community groups and the voluntary sector.

Application deadline:

This is a great opportunity to make an impact on our charity and help us become more responsible for the waste that we produce. We will measure the impact of the changes that you will introduce to help make us greener and a happier place to work. You will develop a strong understanding of our charity and how we function as you will be interacting with people across departments and looking at what our service users do.

Role Aim:

We need a volunteer to help us go greener and look at how we are recycling and using one-use items to reduce the impact our charity is having on the environment.

You should look at the functions of the organisation and the different departments to see how we function and give cost effective solutions to help us reduce our carbon footprint and help recycle.

Skills needed:

Understanding of how to reduce waste and recycling
