About the organisation

Age UK Kensington & Chelsea

Age UK Kensington & Chelsea is a local charity working with and for older people. We aim to promote independence and well-being in later life, encouraging self-help and peer support.

We offer a wide range of services and activities, and provide

interesting opportunities for people of all ages to get involved as

volunteers.

Our services go from Information and Advice (benefit claim or housing) Befriending (one-to-one basis or in group including people who lives with dementia) Shopping (taking people to their weekly shopping) IT support, Small DIY tasks (changing lightbulbs or assembling a flat pack) Gardening, Chair based exercise (to keep the muscle fit) Walking Support (to help people to recover their confidence after suffering a fall)

We would love your help!

Health and mobility issues mean that many older people lack confidence about going out on their own. Things like attending medical appointments, going to the bank or for a local walk become a real challenge. Volunteers escort older people with these sorts of tasks.
