Give Opportunity Global is a charity registered in England and Wales with the objective of empowering and supporting the poor in East Africa to access education, basic healthcare, clean water and microfinance.

We are looking for enthusiastic volunteers for Digital and IT Executive roles. In this role you will manage and maintain our charity website and social media platforms

You will be working closely with marketing and fundraising teams to develop and manage digital marketing and fundraising campaigns

This is a great opportunity for someone looking to gain invaluable hands-on experience to enhance their digital and IT skills, whilst contributing to life changing projects helping children to access education and empower women with capital to start small businesses to generate income and break poverty cycle

Role Aim: 

We are looking for enthusiastic volunteers for Digital and IT Executive roles. In this role you will manage and maintain charity website and social media platforms.

Working closely with marketing and fundraising teams to develop and manage digital marketing and fundraising campaigns

This is a great opportunity which will give you invaluable hands-on experience to enhance your digital marketing, fundraising and IT skills. In addition, you will gain skills in critical thinking, creativity, coordinating with others, people management, problem solving, negotiation, emotion intelligence, decision making, communication and fundraising.

Good IT or digital skills required

Duties: 

• Manage and maintain our charity website including social media platforms

• Write and optimise content for the website and social media accounts such as Facebook and Twitter

• Edit and post videos, podcasts and audio content to online sites

• Work collaboratively with marketing and fundraising teams to develop, manage digital marketing and fundraising campaigns

• Arrange webinars and webcasts

• Update our website with the latest information and fix any errors and bugs in our online content

• Track and analyse website traffic flow and provide regular internal reports

• Assist with Blog writing and publishing for GOG

• Liaise with executive team to plan and implement projects

• Meet with executive team for work review and updates

• Support with ad hoc tasks i.e. updates on the database and website

Skills needed: 

• Have good communication and interpersonal skills

• Advanced knowledge of MS Office packages, as well as digital skills using social media etc.

• Video editing, writing and editing skills

• Be creative, innovative and proactive

• Be able to work from their own initiative and follow instructions from executive team

• Be organised, reliable and committed

• Have an attention to detail and ‘can do attitude’.

Training: 

Use of MS Office training will be offered if required, Media communications and fundraising will be offered depending volunteer’s level of competence.
