About the organisation

Age UK Islington

Age UK Islington is a charity which uses innovative techniques to provide support to Islington residents over the age of 16, enabling them to use self-help approaches to manage their own health and wellbeing. We focus on prevention: identifying those in need facilitating support before situations escalate. This, in turn, reduces over reliance on or inappropriate use of public funded services – GPs, A & E and Social Services. We aim to empower residents to develop their own support networks and their own capability and confidence to improve their situation. Volunteers make an invaluable contribution to the work of Age UK Islington, contributing their time, skills and enthusiasm and enhancing the support that we’re able to deliver.

Age UK Islington Activity service runs a varied and busy programme of activities across the borough. It is vital that we accurately record attendances and client information on our database to enable us to contact clients about future events and ensure our mailing list is kept up to date. It is also essential for us to run reports to continuously monitor and improve the service as well as for reporting purposes. The Data Entry role would involve entering data of activities attendances and new clients on our database and helping with the mail out for our Activity programme on Excel. Training would be provided.
