About the organisation

FoodCycle

FoodCycle builds communities by combining volunteers, surplus food and spare kitchen spaces to create nutritious meals for people at risk of food poverty and social isolation.

Application deadline:

FoodCycle takes food that would have been thrown in the bin but is perfectly good to eat into a three course meal for people in our community. We tackle food poverty and loneliness by getting communities together to eat a healthy vegetarian meal. If you like getting creative, eating good food and having a chat then this is the opportunity for you!

Role Aim:

Get creative and cook a three course meal using food waste for refugee and asylum seeker women and their young children!

Duties:

There are plenty of different ways you can get stuck in: Help with the food pick-up from local supermarkets and shops, get stuck in with cooking the three course meal, or host our guests through setting up the serving area, and sitting down & chatting with our guests over a tasty meal!

Skills needed:

Enthusiasm, creative ideas and people skills

Training:

Food safety level 1 training will be offered to successful applicants

Location:
Various locations all over London
Time commitment:
3-5 hours per week
Opening times:
Monday 10:30-14:30
