About the organisation
Camden Council - Libraries CoderDojo
Camden Libraries, in partnership with CoderDojo, is looking for volunteers with experience in coding/programming, Python, Scratch, Raspberry pi, and/or other programming languages. If you have little to no experience, don’t worry - you are also very welcome to help us encourage young people! The club is run one Saturday a month in Camden Council’s fantastic new building - 5 Pancras Square - at the heart of King’s Cross. The session is from 14:00 – 15:30, for young people aged 7 to 17. We are planning to split this club and run additional club sessions after school. We are also planning to run a coding club only for girls.

Want to shape up the future generation and contribute to your community? If so, Camden Coding Club, in partnership with CoderDojo, is looking for volunteers with experience in coding/programming, Python, Scratch, Raspberry pi, and/or other programming languages. And if you don’t have experience in coding? You are also very welcome to encourage the young people and get them engaged! We are planning to split this club and run additional clubs after school. We are also planning to run coding clubs ONLY for girls. Help us to more girls to get involve in coding and gain valuable coding skills!
We would like volunteers to help young people develop their technological experience, by teaching them how to code and give them support to build confidence, gain valuable skills for the future and to open up new avenues for children who might not otherwise have such learning opportunities.
Setting up equipment like laptops, recording registration, checking if equipment is safe to use, engaging one-to-one with kids who need support, to follow safeguarding procedures, mentoring, helping kids achieve their coding goals.
Programming, coding or any other ICT skills, or if you don’t have any coding /IT experience, you can help by encouraging and supporting the young people
No training needed but there is an induction covering health and safety, safeguarding, and an informal meeting
