About the organisation

Breast Cancer Haven

Our Breast Cancer Haven London centre has been supporting people through their breast cancer treatment for 19 years. We provide a huge range of free services to those affected by breast cancer including counselling (for friends and family too), support groups, relief from pain caused by chemotherapy treatment by using things like acupuncture, nutritional guidance and money advice services. It costs £1000 to provide the Breast Cancer Haven programme for each Visitor and as we receive no government funding, the fundraising we do is essential.

Application deadline:

Want to volunteer but don’t have much time to spare? Enthusiastic about charity and meeting new people? Come along and help out at our bucket collections!

Collections happen all throughout the year and we are always looking for volunteers who can offer their support at an event. The role is very flexible and you can sign up to different events as and when you are able, even just for 1 or 2 hours. This is an exciting opportunity to support a national breast cancer charity using your enthusiasm and free time for bucket collections in London.

Role Aim:

We are a national charity helping people through the experience of breast cancer. We offer information, counselling and complementary therapies through our welcoming Havens and outreach programme. We work alongside the NHS to provide integrated breast cancer care and are committed to undertaking rigorous research to evaluate the effectiveness of our programmes in helping people with breast cancer.

Every month, we hold bucket collections at Fulham Broadway and Kings Cross tube stations to raise funds for our London centre, and for this to grow, we need volunteers! We are looking for anyone with an hour or two to spare a month to do some bucket collecting at tube stations as part of our Breast Cancer Haven team.
