SportInspired’s vision is of communities connected with energy and passion, where people enjoy being active and we aim to achieve this through fun and inclusive community programmes. An Assistant Games Manager will play roles in planning, organising and delivering Games programmes. We’re looking for an independent individual who has excellent communication, organisation and teamwork skills to join the SportInspired team. Interns will have the opportunity to develop project management, knowledge of the sport and charity sector and adaptable communication skills whilst at SportInspired. The typical working day is 10am – 5pm, Monday to Friday and we will expect the intern to work at least 1 day a week, however we can be flexible regarding working hours and days to align with academic commitments.

Purpose of role:

Applicants will play roles in planning, organising, and being a key communication source amongst members of SportInspired.


Duties and Responsibilities

Specific duties will depend on the skills and interest of the intern, but is likely to be some or all of the below:

• Supporting with the organisation of SportInspired Games programmes

• Carrying out and compiling research on community need in the areas in which SportInspired work

• Exploring new business opportunities for SportInspired by researching and identifying potential partners

• Administrative tasks such as putting together and printing essential documents for SportInspired Games

• Supporting internship recruitment programme

• Supporting marketing opportunities for SportInspired

• Supporting our accounting policies by processing invoices

• Supporting the Event Director to run the SportInspired Games festivals

• Carry out any other duties and projects as required by your Line Manager, commensurate with the level of the post.

Skills needed: 

Skills and Understanding

• Excellent communication skills, including the ability to write in an engaging style and speak/negotiate with people from a variety of backgrounds

• Strong organisational skills with a good eye for detail

• Ability to carry out detailed research independently

• Good teamwork and interpersonal skills, meaning the candidate is able to fit in well with a small and busy team

• Pro-active and readiness to take on a wide variety of tasks

• Positive attitude and the ability to see challenges as opportunities for development

Full training will be provided upon induction and will cover the assistance of programme management, delivering workshops and training sessions and communication in the workplace.

Opening times: 
The role is available 10am – 5pm Monday to Friday. SportInspired respect volunteers’ academic commitments so therefore are willing to be flexible with the volunteers working schedule.
