Aston Mansfield

Aston-Mansfield has been working in the heart of east London for over 130 years. We provide a wide range of community development support and activities in the London Borough of Newham, directly delivering services to around 1000 people and 900 organisations each year.

Emphasising developmental learning and personal growth, our services bring together people from diverse backgrounds to tackle poverty and deprivation and to enrich people’s lives. We aim to improve people’s lives: working with children, young people and families, whilst also developing community groups and the voluntary sector.

The Little Manor Play Project is our core out-of-school programme, where children attending our breakfast, after school and holiday sessions participate in a wide range of fun and stimulating activities. These activities provide opportunities for social, physical & creative development and improve well-being.

Volunteers are required to support and inspire the children to make the most of the activities.

We are looking for people who would love to nurture young minds, work in a team, develop and implement creative work and games with children.

Role Aim: 

We require volunteers as After-School Club Assistants, the role involves supporting a team to prepare and run the activities of our highly successful after school club called Little Manor.


We are looking for people who can work in a team, develop and implement creative work and games with children.

Are willing to work in the kitchen to help prepare snacks for the children.

Are able to work with other volunteers and staff to provide the most fulfilling and engaging activities for the children.

Skills needed: 

Should enjoy working with children. Be a real team player. Be prepared to help in the kitchen.

Time commitment: 
3-5 hours per week
Opening times: 
14:00-18:00 on weekdays. The volunteer is free to choose the day or days they would like to volunteer.

Once you’ve registered interest in this volunteering role, we’ll send your name and UCL email address to the organisation for their records.
