Opportunity: MS Information Reviewer/Editor

We need you to help make the MS Society’s information resources the best they can be. As a volunteer reviewer, you will be playing an important role in our information process. When we plan and write information, it is vital that we include the views of people affected by MS. That way we know that it’s useful and appropriate, and meets the needs of people affected by MS. If you have MS or are affected by it (through friends or family) we need your help in reviewing our publications and other resources to make them relevant and of a high quality.

RESULTS grassroots campaigners take action locally to fight global poverty using their voices to change the world. They receive training and support to become skilled advocates, from influencing MPs to policy makers, and engaging others within their community.

RESULTS campaigners in London meet as a group on the first Tuesday of each month to plan and take campaign actions and organise events. They regularly join our national conference calls, learning more about international development and sharing their successes from around the UK.

Opportunity: Communications Volunteers

We are seeking volunteers to assist us deliver our communications programme. The purpose of the role is to help us tell the ECHO story. We want to engage with families who need our help and encourage them to seek support, and we also want to share our story with the wider community to engender support for the charity and help us to reach out to potential donors and fundraisers. Activities are wide ranging and cover all aspects of communications including but not limited to: social media management, writing stories and case studies, updating our website, designing and editing materials, making short videos, photography and generating PR coverage. We are flexible and open to hearing new ideas.


Opportunity: Workshop volunteer or Local Lead

Volunteers would conduct fun and engaging one-hour workshops to train children on eye care and eye health and help them be change agents as Eye Heroes for eye health with adults in their social circles.

Volunteers have the option to become a Local Lead for Eye Heroes if there isn*t one in the area. Local Leads are our main point of contact for coordinating and communicating future workshops in a specific region. Volunteers who choose to be Local Leads will contact schools, recruit more volunteers for the workshops, and promote Eye Heroes with the local community and local partners.

The volunteer will lead the workshop using the toolkit and resources provided by Eye Heroes. The volunteer will interact and engage with the children using games, videos, role play and interactive activities. The teachers are expected to be in the classroom to provide supervision. The Lead volunteer would coordinate with the school on the logistics planning for the workshop.

We are a very small and busy team and the principle focus of this volunteer role will be supporting the fundraising team with day-to-day administration around events and challenges. The role is very varied and will provide a clear overview of the fundraising work of a small charity. The office can get very busy and the role requires excellent attention to detail, confidence when dealing with the public and Microsoft Office skills.

We are a national charity helping people through the experience of breast cancer. We offer information, counselling and complementary therapies through our welcoming Havens and outreach programme. Every month, we hold bucket collections at Fulham Broadway and Kings Cross tube stations to raise funds for our London centre, and for this to grow, we need volunteers! We are looking for anyone with an hour or two to spare a month to do some bucket collecting at tube stations as part of our Breast Cancer Haven team.

We are looking for volunteers to act as befrienders for two of our Services.

Friendship Network: our network of befrienders visit older isolated people in North Islington for a chat and some company.

Stroke Project: our befrienders (Stroke Champions) specifically visit people who have suffered a stroke, to alleviate their isolation and help them with practical issues. They can also attend our Stroke Club on a Friday morning.
