One of the duties of UCL is to promote and maintain a Students’ Union (the Union) for the benefit of students. To meet this obligation UCL shares your personal data with the Union as set out below.

The Students’ Union
The Union uses this personal information for the purpose of running its affairs and promoting its activities, including:
- Administering club and society memberships
- Managing Union memberships
- Facilitating access to the Union website
- Promoting and managing voting in general meetings & elections
- Administering of events & activities
- Managing accreditations through the Higher Education Achievement Report

All students will by default become members of the Union when they enrol at UCL.
The Union is a charitable company, and you will become a company law member of the Union.

What do I do if I do not want my personal information transferred to the Union?
If you do not want your personal data to be transferred to the Union you may opt out at Enrollment or using Portico.
Please note that by opting-out you will no longer become a Union member, be able to take part in its democratic processes, hold an elected position or vote.
