Three Minute Thesis

An 80,000 word thesis would take 9 hours to present. Their time limit… 3 minutes!

Doctoral candidates present their research in just three minutes, in language appropriate to non-specialists, and with only one single presentation slide to support them. Can it be done? You’ll have to come along and find out!

How does it work?

3 Minute Thesis Competition Winner Announced

Imagine explaining your research, or even your latest essay, to people outside of your field in only three minutes! 12 UCL PhD students took on this feat at our annual 3 Minute Thesis final last month. The finalists were the best of the best having won their departmental and faculty heats.

You can now watch the overall winner, Alexandra Bridarolli from the Eastman Dental Institute deliver her talk “Regenerative medicine for ….. canvas.”

UCL 3MT Finalists Announced

3 minutes to talk about your thesis… Can it be done? During the Three Minute Thesis (3MT) challenge doctoral candidates will be doing just that, with just a single presentation slide to support them. Faculty Heats have taken place across UCL - results are in and it is time to announce your finalists!
