Amendments to the UCLU Byelaws- Governance Wars: A new Byelaw

UCLU should:

1. Add this to the Council section of the byelaws
“There should be a Union Council meeting scheduled to follow each Members’ Meeting to be able to consider only business which has not been dealt with at the Members’ Meeting, and that Council is empowered to deal with. Any business dealt with shall take the time of submission to the Members’ Meeting to be the time of submission for the meeting of Council. If there is no business to consider, the meeting shall not occur.”

This is because:

1. The Union should be responsive to Members’ wishes and deal with policy quickly when submitted, even when quoracy is an issue.
