Purpose of the job
Students’ Union UCL is the representative body for University College London’s (UCL) 37,000 students. Students’ Union UCL is a not for profit charity employing over 75 full-time staff who work with seven elected student Sabbatical Officers to deliver a wide range of services and representative functions to one of the most diverse student communities in the world.
For many of us, clubs, societies and sports are some of the most important parts of the student experience. Every year, thousands of students get involved in sports, societies and volunteering activities, all of which are run by the Students’ Union. As Activities Officer, you will be the lead officer for developing these aspects of the Union and you will have a unique opportunity to shape the social and co-curricular side of student life at UCL.

- Communicate with the student body to ensure the students are influencing your decision making
- Be a leader of the student body and debate on their behalf
- Effectively action informed policies or intiatives that fall under your remit to better reflect student needs
- Attend mandatory training, meetings and committees
- Oversee the running of all clubs and societies across sports, arts and general interest activities including managing and allocating funding
- Help to get new clubs and societies off the ground and affiliated for support
