London Bright Sparks is a tutoring and mentoring company with a difference. For every £10 that you earn we donate £1 to See Beyond Borders - a UNESCO award winning educational charity based in Cambodia.

We provide students across London with academic mentors whose aim is to inspire confidence, happiness and educational independence - not just exam cramming.

We provide support across all subjects and ages (from KS1 up to A-Level) and are looking for inspiring, charismatic, patient, organised graduates and undergraduates who are excellent communicators.

Vacancy Summary

London Bright Sparks are currently looking for new tutors and mentors who are interested in offering guidance and academic mentorship to students over the course of the year. Our students range from KS1 up to A-level and though experience in a teaching environment is desirable, it is not essential for the right candidate.

Teaching sessions commonly take place after-school between the hours of 5 - 9 and at weekends but being available for some days over school holiday periods is also a bonus.

Pay rate ranges between £25 - £50 per hour depending on student level and experience of the tutor.

We are currently looking for Maths, Science and English specialists; inspirational mentors and academics who can inspire confidence and widen horizons in their students, rather than just going and teaching for an hour from a textbook.

Requirements

We are looking for bright undergraduates and graduates who have passion and expertise in their subject areas. This is the perfect opportunity for anyone interested in teaching or working with children.

We are looking for good communicators who are organised and dependable who can explain concepts clearly and inspire confidence in students.

No prior teaching experience is required, although those with previous experience or teaching qualification can earn a higher p/h rate.

Other info

Aside from the teaching and mentoring that we support, for every £10 that you earn we donate £1 to See Beyond Borders - a UNESCO award winning educational charity based in Cambodia - so the work you do will not only have an immediate impact with the students you take on, but will see some of that being passed on to students who are currently deprived of basic primary level education. www.seebeyondborders.org

We look forward to receiving your application and meeting you soon.
