University College Hospital London (UCLH NHS) and NUS are offering an opportunity for a student to gain skills in project management, communications and leadership by supporting and motivating new Green Impact teams.

Green Impact is a popular holistic accreditation scheme that encourages pro-sustainable behaviours by staff in teams. It empowers sustainability champions, providing them with a framework of practical actions, helping them gain recognition for their efforts, whilst playing on the competitive spirit of people working together in teams. At the same time it provides students with skills development, learning and research opportunities as well as volunteering time – all of which contribute to personal development.

This year Green Impact is being used by over 300 organisations, including students’ unions, universities, colleges, hospitals, local authorities, dentists, GPs national government departments, charities and private-sector organisations, amongst others. During the 2017/18 year, over 1,500 teams and departments delivered over 58,000 actions, well over half of which were as a direct result of Green Impact. The wider programme really is a national movement rather than a local scheme. University College Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust are launching their third year of Green Impact and are looking for a part time student staff to help support new teams to the programme.
