Welfare & International Officer

Welfare & International Officer works to ensure that your experience at UCL is one that’s safe and comfortable, communicating and promote your welfare needs to both the Union and to UCL. They are responsible for seeing that the unique needs of International students are represented, and that you are supported in the transition to London.

The WIO is a full-time sabbatical officer who sits on a number of committees which are relevant to international students. You can make an appointment to see the WIO or send her an email. International Students’ Officer

The International Students’ Officer works with the Welfare & International Officer to represent the interests of international students within the Union, within UCL and nationally. Click here for more information about the role and about the officer currently holding the position.

The international students’ officer is an international student elected to work part-time on international issues. They also sit on UCL and UCLU committees to represent international students. They are the Chair of the international students’ forum and help organise a committee and social events. Contact the International Students' Officer.


 

Representation and Campaigns Co-ordinator (Postgraduate & International)

Diana is a full-time staff member who works to support the student officers and international students at UCL. If you have any questions, would like to run a campaign or you have an event idea please get in touch.


International Students’ Forum

Come along to the International Students’ Forum to meet new people, get involved in planning events and bring along any issues you may have for discussion around language, culture or immigration.  The International Students’ Forum is open to all UCL international students and UK students are also encouraged to get involved, particularly if inter

 

ested in studying abroad or learning a new language. It's a great way to get involved and meet new people.

Rights & Advice Centre

If you have any problems or questions, the UCLU Rights & Advice Centre is here to offer support and advice on a range of topics including housing, immigration, finance, employment, consumer and academic queries. As well as offering an appointment support service, the centre has a range of online information sheets for easy access.


NUS International Students Campaign

Interested in find out more about national international student campaigns or want to get involved? The National Union of Students (NUS) run a range of international campaigns and you can find a full list with further information on their website. NUS is a voluntary membership organisation and a confederation of 600 students' unions which represent the interests of more than seven million students across UK.


Health

It is strongly recommended that students register with a doctor when they arrive in London in order to access healthcare as quickly as possible if you become ill or injured. The majority of UCL students are registered with the Ridgmount Practice, which is located in the Boomsbury campus.

International Students Support Team

UCL’s International Student Support Team aim to guide you through the UCL experience. To find out more about the team click here. They offer an International Student Orientation Programme (ISOP), a range of seminars throughout the year and monthly newsletters.
