On this page international students can find more information on what entertaining activities UCL and London have to offer.

International Students' Orientation Programme (ISOP):

ISOP takes place in September and again in January for new incoming international students. It is a great way to settle into London and to UCL. Aside from the formal and informal sessions held by UCL that help students become familiar with the university and surroundings, there are a number of ISOP events that take place including pub quizzes, breakfasts, walking tours and game nights. Click here for more information on upcoming ISOP events and here for the Welcome International Students page.

Clubs and Societies:

UCLU has hundreds of clubs and societies. Click here to view them all. There are a currently around 200 societies in UCL, the vast majority of those being cultural or general interest societies. There is a high chance you will find one from your own country or one that combines several countries such as the European Society or the African Caribbean Society. Don't forget as well that the best way to meet UK students will be by joining an interest society such as Harry Potter, vegetarian, book club, knitting, or badminton. Or if you would like to see another one of your favourite activities represented in UCL, you can even start your own society!

The International Students' Forum:

The International Students' Forum organises events related to culture and languages. There are a number of annual events including monthly Language Cafes and an annual Speed Lingua event. There are also occasional events held outside of term time and other exciting get togethers including tea parties and tours. Find out more about the forum here or visit their Facebook page.

What's On Calendar:

Want to know what societies have planned or what club nights are planned? UCLU Activities and Events are listed in the What's On calendar. You can pick up a printed version of the calendar or look for posters around campus, however, the website calendar is always the most up-to-date.

Volunteering:

Volunteering is a great way to make friends and explore London. Plus, it is a very rewarding experience. The Volunteering Services Unit provides a host of opportunities, including one-off opportunities  as well as the chance for you to create your own project. There is also a Volunteering Society. Are you worried about your visa and eligibility to volunteer as an international student? Check here for the VSU guidelines.

Black and Minority Ethnic (BME) Events:

If you are an international student from African, Arab, Asian, and Latin American origin then you can get involved with the BME Students' Network. There are a number of exciting BME events planned throughout they year including Black History Month activities and international film screenings. Please check the online calendar for any upcoming events.

London events and activities:

Check out The Great Little Place for quirky gems around London. GLP is a website on which communities share places they visited and would like others to know about. Here you can find anything from bars, museums, restaurants and more, in London and beyond.

TimeOut London is also a great guide with events, activities and attractions in London.

London is an expensive place, but if you are looking for fun with little or no money, visit the London for Free website.

You can also check out Things to do in London for things to see and do in popular areas in and around the city.
