Anusha Patel
Hi everyone hope you are all keeping safe in the midst of the pandemic. My name is Anusha and I am running for Head of Sponsorship.
My objectives:
1. Maintain existing sponsorship relations and gain new sponsors from a mixture of firms to ensure members are aware of the various career paths they can enter within the finance industry such as Investment Banking, Private Equity, Hedge Funds, Asset Management, Fintech and many more.
2. Organise the annual ‘Share the Vision Conference’.
3. Introduce coding/quantitative trading workshops to enhance students' skillset.
4. Organise joint social events with other Guild societies and inter-university events.
5. Liaise with members to ensure a cohesive society atmosphere and focus on organising events which society members express interest in.
Why me?
1. Committed: I have attended various WinF events, including the society’s most prestigious ‘Share the Vision’ Conference.
2. Strong oral and written communication skills: In the past year I have held leadership positions such as Head of Marketing for TechSoc and demonstrated teamwork skills by working as an analyst for the UCL M&A Society.
3. Influencing and negotiation skills: Participated in the IFS Student Investor Challenge.
4. Organisational ability: During my first year of university I had a part-time job and during my second year I have held various positions in different societies.
I would very much welcome the opportunity to build upon the society’s success!

I believe my competent coordinating and communication abilities will be vital for succeeding as the Head of Sponsorship. With this responsibility, I hope to play an active role working alongside a variety of our top sponsors to provide interactive events for society members to educate, equip, and empower them, illustrating the values at WinF. I’ve personally been able to immensely benefit from the WinF events, the opportunities to network with some of the most influential women in the financial industry, case study workshops, and conferences have all deepened my knowledge in the inclusive environment of WinF. Thus I recognise the importance of these opportunities hence aim to further develop the range of resources and events through networking with societies across the region as well as sponsors to organise multiple events so members can benefit from a variety of opportunities as well as forge lifelong friendships with those around them to carry on the inclusive and collaborative community of like-minded empowered females supporting each other. I aim to carry on the collective passion of continuing to build and educate our community and develop new ideas to break down some of the barriers in entering the financial industry as females and help reduce the gender imbalance in the future. I hope to make a positive impact and interact with members to gain feedback for what they’d like to see more of. Thank you for reading and feel free to get in contact for further development.
